    • This was one of the biggest audiences to date, an estimated 20,000 people attended this event. This event was also advertisted Aeronautically as while Peter was doing an interviews over the phone, he noticed a bi-plane flying overhead with the sign saying “English Beat/REM/On the Beach”.

      I have many photo’s of the show,(50)It was on the Daytona Plaza hotel pool deck.I owned the facility.Buck williams was the booking agent.I saw the Video 1.19 seconds.It was a great show.I would very much like to see it again!! Let’s discuss this.My email is taraft2002@yahoo.com.There was avery interesting story that goes with that show.       Turns out R.E.M Played Plaza Hotel pooldeck with English Beat(1983)then the Daytona bandshell in 1984,same day as Modern English/Fixx show.I have pictures and videos.

      I’m pretty sure the db’s played the pool deck show with REM and The English Beat (who headlined). I watched it from my sister’s room balcony on the second or third floor. I still tell people about how great it was to be there. I wish I had a time machine.

      Awesome info on this show!! I live in Daytona and wish I could have been there. Where was the internet when I needed it!! WOuld love to see more pics and such from this one!!
