    Notes

REM blew through the 5 song set. Stipe introduced the band as "The Beatles". Rain fell while REM was onstage which got more applause than the band did.

Supporting the Police during the summer of 1983 turned out to be a major low point for the band for years to come, so much that the band many times commented on the fact they would never play stadium tours. In retrospect, this tour gave REM the taste of what success was and what they wanted and didn't want during that time. Obviously if there was something appealing of playing large tours during this time, the band and he music might be much different than it was on the follow-up albums to Murmur.
